APPLY

The application process is not open yet.

In order to receive support from the Travel Fund crews have to apply for support. Crew's applications for support will be considered for selection if they meet the conditions of application.

CONDITIONS OF APPLICATION

Crews can make an application for support from the Travel Fund if they have to travel more than 400 km as the crow flies in order to get to Soul on Top. The red circle centered on Basel drawn on the following map has a radius of 400 km.

Crews can be supported with money and/or free lodging at Youthhostels and Hotels we work with (stay of 1 night costing approx. CHF 30.- per person). The maximum support awarded per crew is limited to money and/or free lodging amounting to CHF 500.- (fivehundred Swiss Francs). If the crews are awarded free lodging we will book the Youthhostel or Hotel for them. The crews we select for monetary support from the Travel Fund receive the awarded amount only if they show up and participate at Soul on Top. The selected crews will receive the money on the Sunday Soul on Top is held in cash, by wire transfer or by PayPal.

Crews selected for support from the Travel Fund stay responsible for organizing their journey to Soul on Top including accomodation (unless they receive support in the form of free lodging) and food. We don't organize or pay for journey, accomodation (unless they receive support in the form of free lodging) or food. The supported crews stay responsible for having valid travel documentation. If members of supported crews need visas in order to travel to Soul on Top we may write letters of invitation.

By applying for support from the Travel Fund crews are not automatically registered to participate at Soul on Top. If a crew wants to participate regardless of being supported by the Travel Fund they have to register as everyone else. We keep six spaces on the registered crew list open for the crews that actually get supported by the Travel Fund.

PROCEDURE

All applications will be made public on our website.

A commission of three members of the AbsTracks Association selects the crews that receive support from the Travel Fund from all the crews that make an application. The decision will be taken in light of the selection criteria. The commission decides freely. The commission's decision of who gets how much isn't contestable.

The commission's decision will be made public on our website. All the crews that apply for support from the Travel Fund will learn about our decision by e-mail beforehand.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The commission selects crews by looking at their skills and at the length and costs of their trip to Soul on Top. However, this doesn't mean that the best crew with the longest and costliest trip will be supported. We are trying to use the money put at our disposal efficiently and fairly.
